Bad communication gets complicated when people work far apart. Excellent communication is key when working remotely and is essential to managing expectations. Employees at distant offices have to be more in touch with the boss, not less. It also requires a strategic touch, matching tech tools such as texts, email, calls or videoconferencing to the occasion. Even a meet in person should be an option especially when problem solving or discussing detail. Be clear on what methods and process of communication works and plan ahead.
